Keiko carefully dyes 10 skeins of the thread, each pod, by hands. Indigo dye requires a lot of amount of water. She carefully washes the unnecessary dyes away and dries them outside. In order to achieve the natural color without unexpected irregular color, she needs to be careful on picking the best condition, weather, and humidity. It isn’t an easy process, but the result is so rewarding.

We appreciate natural blue color from Indigo not only because they are beautiful but also it calming our feelings. I do not know how it works yet, but it sure makes us feel easier when we work on Sashiko projects. Sashiko is a process of appreciating the fabric. The result will be very rewarding and beautiful, but we want the process to be enjoyable. We will keep producing the Natural Indigo colors as well as the other Natural Dyes such as Persimmon (Kakishibu) Colors and much more.
